Silent Auction To Benefit Mark Dobmeier Family

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A silent auction will be held at River Cities Speedway on Aug. 21, with proceeds benefiting the Mark Dobmeier family.

Dobmeier was injured earlier this season at a World of Outlaws event.

The driver of the Buffalo Wild Wings/Lunstra Motorsports No. 13, was involved in a crash while battling for a transfer spot in the third heat race at the three-eighths-mile Cedar Lake Speedway and was transported to St. Paul Hospital.

On Saturday he underwent surgery to address back injuries. His wife, Jacque, later confirmed in a post to the official Dobmeier Racing Facebook page that Dobmeier’s L4 vertebrae in his back was shattered and his L3 vertebrae was fractured.

Dobmeier is among the top sprint car drivers in the Plains region of the United States. He’s a two-time Northern Outlaw Sprint Ass’n champion and is the all-time series win leader with 165 victories.

The Grand Forks, N.D., native also has three World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victories, including a preliminary win during the 2011 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway.

The silent auction, organized by the World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund Inc., will take place on vendor row outside the main gate.

The World of Outlaws Benevolent Fund is a non-profit organization committed to assisting World of Outlaws members injured at World of Outlaws events.
