BARBERVILLE, Fla. – Last year, Daryn Pittman kicked off his World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series tenure with Roth Motorsports in dominating fashion, winning the two season-opening races at the DIRTcar Nationals.

In doing so, he claimed his third Big Gator championship at Volusia Speedway Park and gave Roth its first as an organization.

Now, Pittman and the Roth team are paired together again for the 2020 season, poised to chase back-to-back Big Gators.

Of all active drivers, the Owasso, Okla., native is one of the most successful drivers at the half-mile Florida dirt track. He has three feature wins there in the last five years, as well as five victories altogether at Volusia for his career.

What’s more, Pittman has eight top-five and nine top-10 finishes in his last 14 starts at Volusia, combining for an average finish of eighth with 42 laps led during that time.

And with hopes of adding a second World of Outlaws championship to his resume to go along with the one he earned in 2013, Pittman knows full well that a fast start can go a long way to determining who hoists the big trophy at season’s end in Concord, N.C.

After all, seven years ago, Pittman led the points chase wire to wire en route to his maiden Outlaw title – earned at that time with Kasey Kahne Racing.

Can he do so with Roth Motorsports in 2020? Only time – and the racing on-track – will tell.
