BARBERVILLE, Fla. – After sweeping the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series’ finale weekend last year during the Can-Am World Finals, David Gravel will look to continue his winning streak at the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park.

The Watertown, Conn., driver returns to Jason Johnson Racing in 2020 for his second year with the team. He and the team had a spectacular first season together last year, winning 12 races, including Gravel’s first Knoxville Nationals crown.

Gravel has yet to win a World of Outlaws race at the half-mile Florida speedway. However, he’s had success at the season opening event, winning the Big Gator in 2017.

All told, Gravey has four top fives, nine top 10s and 24 laps led, along with a best finish of second, at Volusia over the past five years going into 2020.

Gravel and JJR will be on the hunt for a strong start to the season, and though they won’t be in the hunt for the driver’s championship, Gravel wants as many points as possible in hopes of helping the team capture the owner’s title next year.

That quest will keep him driven as his career path begins to likely travel both dirt and asphalt roads in the coming year.
