POWRi West Midgets Launch

BELLEVILLE, Ill. – With the stoppage of all outside racing action amid the global coronavirus pandemic, many drivers and fans alike are tuning in to eSports to fill their desire for dirt.

Evolving to meet the sport’s demands, the POWRi Lucas Oil West Midget League has unveiled a six-week schedule of iRacing events.

Using the iRacing platform, motorists can log-in via a strong internet connection to compete against other drivers around the globe in a myriad of classes and cars.

Dedicating the season to midget competition, the POWRi West League will oversee all race-day duties such as entry, timing, and scoring.

Drivers from across the globe are eligible to compete, as long as they meet the specific computer requirements to run the iRacing program, as well as proving their talents in preliminary racing to qualify for events. A limit of the top 50 participants is in place.

POWRi TV will broadcast live to offer the six-week iRacing schedule every Tuesday night at 7 p.m. Central free of charge to fans.

With one tightly contested feature in the books, the current POWRi West Midget iRacing League point standings may be early, but are still on every entrant’s mind.

Winning at Lernerville in race one, Aiden Purdue sits atop the season standings, with Jeffery Denney running close behind in second and Kyle Spence rounding out the top three in points.

Up next for the POWRi West Midget League in the iRacing arena will be at the digitally recreated Limaland Motorsports Park outside of Elida, Ohio.

The quarter-mile premier facility owned by UNOH will act as a host for the over 75 drivers pre-entered in this unique event.

Future events also include Fairbury (Ill.) American Legion Speedway on April 14, the Tulsa (Okla.) Expo Raceway on April 21, the dirt Lanier Raceplex in Braselton, Ga., on April 28 and Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio on May 5.

Fans of POWRi action can watch all the racing excitement live on POWRi.TV, streaming simultaneously @POWRiTV on all social media platforms including Twitter and Facebook.
