ATLANTA – Alabama’s Dothan Motor Speedway will re-open on Feb. 22 by playing host to the United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour presented by K&N Filters winged sprint cars.
The USCS winged sprint cars will headline the racing action during the speedway’s inaugural Peanut Capital 150 event that also features late models, modifieds and stock cars in seven divisions at the track starting at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22. In all, there will be 150 laps of main events, plus qualifying and heat races.
The event will be race three on the 65-event schedule touring sprint car series. Among those expected to enter include defending USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour National champion Terry Gray, Johnny Bridges, Jeff Willingham, Mark Smith, Danny Smith, Davie Franek, Kyle Amerson, Lee Moore and Jim and Mallie Shuster.
Gates open at the three-eighths-mile dirt track located in Cottonwood, Ala., on Saturday, Feb. 22 in the competitor pit area at 3 p.m. CST. Grandstand gates open at 3:30 p.m. CST. The driver’s meeting will be at 5:15 p.m. CST with test and tune hot laps to immediately follow. Racing action kicks off at 6:30 p.m. CST.
