DRUMRIGHT, Okla. – One of the top-paying events on the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Tel-Star Technologies slate has arrived.
The inaugural Performance Electronics Ltd. and Engler Machine and Tool Stock Nationals will hit the dirt on Friday and Saturday nights at Oklahoma’s Port City Raceway.
The oval in Tulsa, Okla., will feature all three of the series’ premier divisions – Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class and Restricted A-Class – on both nights.
The Stock Non-Wing and Winged A-Class divisions will each pay $2,000 to win and $200 to start, while the Restricted A-Class is $500 to win and $50 to start on Saturday.
Frank Flud is the points leader and sits atop the feature wins list in both the Stock Non-Wing and Winged ‘A’ Class divisions this season.
His nine triumphs in Stock Non-Wing competition has led to an 88-point lead in the championship standings over Jared Dunkin, and his 11 Winged A-Class victories has helped him to a 57-point advantage in that division’s standings over Cole Roberts.
Ryan Timms has also amassed 11 wins to build an 89-point lead in the Restricted A-Class standings.
Flud has won two of the five series Stock Non-Wing races at Port City Raceway this season. Chris Andrews, Jeffrey Newell and Timms each have one victory.
In addition, Flud has won three of the five Winged A-Class races at the track with the series this season. Avery Goodman and Chase Randall have also been victorious.
Timms has three of the five Restricted A-Class triumphs at Port City Raceway. Rees Moran and Grayson Gaddy both have one win.
