JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Zeb Wise took the lead on lap two and powered to victory in the Jacksonville Midget Championships Sunday night at Jacksonville Speedway.

Wise started second in the 25-lap feature, taking the lead from polesitter Tucker Klaasmeyer on the second circuit. The only thing that slowed the Clauson-Marshall Racing driver down was a caution with four laps left.

Even that caution period wasn’t enough to prevent Wise from capturing the victory as he pulled away from the field by more than a second to claim the $3,000 top prize.

Klaasmeyer finished second, followed by Tanner Carrick, Jesse Colwell and Zach Daum.

Holly Hollan won the Non-Qualifiers feature and opted to tag the tail of the 16-car field main event. She finished eighth.

In other action, Paul Nienhiser won the 305 winged sprint car feature, Daum won the 410 non-winged sprint car feature and Joe B. Miller won the micro sprint main event.

The finish:

Zeb Wise, Tucker Klaasmeyer, Tanner Carrick, Jesse Colwell, Zach Daum, Tanner Thorson, Jake Neuman, Holly Hollan, Cannon McIntosh, Daison Pursley, Tyler Courtney, Andrew Layser, C.J. Leary, Logan Seavey, Jesse Love, Maria Cofer.
